Memorial Day weekend: To Big Bear we will go!

I have been on a blogging sabbatical and it's really been kind of....liberating. The first part of it was really accidental, I had to deal with work visa issues, our car broke down in Yorba Linda, leaving KL and me stranded (it was a horrifying experience, never did I feel so vulnerable before and we didn't have AAA at that time, but now we DO)...but I had to admit that my sabbatical extended as I just wasn't feeling inspired to blog. I think I finally have to come to terms with the fact that I'm not really good at updating my blog regularly, sometimes I have a lot to say, sometimes I just don't. But that doesn't mean I tire of the blogging experience! That's something to be said about composing your thoughts and watching it take form on the computer screen...my blog also serves as my journal on my life and style. But ultimately what really makes blogging so enjoyable is the interaction that I get from everyone, your comments and your emails. So I'm back on my blogging soap box again!

So during the long Memorial Day weekend, KL and I drove up to Big Bear Lake.

I have been to Big Bear several years ago to ski (don't ask, I think I was probably a hazard to everyone on the bunny slope!), but this was my first visit to Big Bear Lake. KL and I took it easy and walked the trail by Big Bear Lake. It was a good opportunity for us to get some sunshine after soaking in the fluorescent rays of our office.

Can you spot what's among the rocks?

My KING OF THE WORLD pose! (this was taken at another trail near the lake, which led into the forest)

I got a new header up as well. I was inspired by my recent trip to Big Bear and decided to put up something bright and sunny up! After all summer is here!

Hi back :)
I understand your comment about blogging. Personally, I think Chictopia or other Lookbook, technically, would be a better option for me since I don't write much, but then I prefer Blogspot's greater 'independence' and challenge to become a part of its community - with all that interaction you had mentioned [versus the other, when it happens somehow automatically].

Were there chain saw weilding car mechanics where you broke down?
How adorable that little animal is, what is it?

Hey :) nice to see you back! I totally relate to the blog-sabbatical, I'm going through a bit of a dry spell too, but I figure it takes all the fun out of it if you feel obliged to post every day, so I'm not going to worry about it too much :P

Love the pics! It looks really nice there, and the header is very summery!

Also, I second what Diane asked ... what the heck IS that little critter? I thought it was a koala bear at first, then I remembered my geography lessons :P Guess I'm in touch with my inner blonde today lol

Hi Boooo;) (Divinitus) - I chose to go with blogspot precisely because of what you mentioned. I love to be able to blog about other things besides fashion, especially food and travel and I feel that blogspot is probaby a better choice for it.

diane - Fortunately no! but there were little ninjas throwing thumbtacks on the floor ;)
I think that little animal is a squirrel...

G.I - LOL, inner blonde! I love that phrase..though I think your inner blonde rarely gets an airing, with that rapier sharp wit of yours :)
